Two local gymnasts have a chance to represent Team USA and perform on the international stage! Everest Gymnastics is excited to announce that both Kaylen Morgan and Amber Lowe have been invited to attend the 2019 U.S. Women’s Junior World Team Selection Camp. The two gymnasts will travel to Sarasota, Florida this weekend to compete in the Junior World Championships Trials.

This selection camp will be used to identify the three athletes who will be named team members for the 2019 Junior World Championships Team. They will go on to compete in Gyor, Hungary from June 27-30, 2019.

“We know that this is a dream for both Kaylen and Amber, to represent their country in such a prestigious event,” said Qi Han and Yiwen Chen, coaches and co-owners of Everest Gymnastics. “They have both worked and trained so hard, and we are proud of all that they have already accomplished.”

Most recently, 15-year-old Kaylen Morgan, of Huntersville, N.C., was selected as a junior member of the Women’s U.S. National Team and made her international debut in the 2019 Gymnix International. In March, 13-year-old Amber Lowe, of Huntersville, N.C, received her rank as a Junior Elite by scoring a 51.3 all-around at the KPAC Cup Elite Qualifier in Charlotte, N.C.

The World championships are held annually except in Olympic years and are open to senior competitors (16 and over for women). 2019 will be the first year ever for the Junior World Championships. It will be held as a trial event with the possibility of being permanently included on the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique calendar.
