On Saturday, May 11th, Everest Gymnastics officially celebrated the opening of its second location, Everest North, in Cornelius, N.C. Formerly the Michael Waltrip Racing Building, Everest Gymnastics transformed the 32,000 foot space into a world-class gymnastics center, with an expansive selection of USAG Certified Equipment, 40-foot in-ground tumble track, dual trampolines and Olympic-sized spring floors.

“We are so excited to share our new facility with the entire Cornelius community,” said Everest Gymnastics head coaches and co-owners, Qi Han and Yiwen Chen. “This facility will provide everything a local, young gymnast needs to master basic and advanced skills, along with the commitment and dedication of the most supportive coaches in the industry.”

Everest Gymnastics is one of the most comprehensive gymnastics training programs in the eastern US, and since 2015, the organization’s Huntersville facility is the only U.S. National Team Training Center in North Carolina. The new Cornelius location focuses primarily on recreational gymnastics, as well as dance classes and a homeschool class for the 2019-2020 season.

The grand opening event featured a special ribbon-cutting with local town leaders and chamber members, music, food, giveaways and a special gymnast skill showcase.
