Everest Gymnastics’ very own Amber Lowe has qualified to the Nastia Liukin Cup following her incredible showing at the 2019 Greensboro (N.C.) Gymnastics Invitational (GGI).  Slated for Friday, March 1 at 7 p.m. at the Greater Greensboro Coliseum Complex, the Nastia Liukin Cup kicks off the Triple Cup weekend that also includes the American Cup and Elite Team Cup on March 2.

“We are so proud of all of Amber’s hard work and determination,” said Everest Gymnastics coaches and owners, Qi Han and Yiwen Chen. “Her incredible dedication is what led her to qualifying for this coveted spot and we’re excited to cheer her on.”

Lowe qualified for the final junior spot after finishing in first place with a 38.125 all around score in the junior age division at the GGI.  Her outstanding floor exercise score of 9.70 helped secure her 1st place finish.  A total of 36 athletes qualified to the Nastia Liukin Cup by having the top score at designated invitationals.

2019 is the 10th annual edition of the Nastia Liukin Cup, which was started in 2010 by 2008 Olympic all-around gold-medalist Nastia Liukin. Gymnasts who compete in the Nastia Liukin Cup will receive a Nastia Liukin-designed leotard and a warm-up from GK Elite; two tickets to the Nastia Liukin Cup; and the opportunity to meet Liukin and participate in a team photo.
